Individuals who receive orthodontic treatment (braces) need to pay more attention to oral hygiene, that is, care. There is more food accumulation on teeth with brackets (braces). If plaque is not cleaned from teeth and brackets, it causes gum disease, decay and bad breath. Plaque is a mixture of bacteria, debris and food particles. Bacteria feed on sugar and produce acid, making the gums sick, damaging the enamel layer of the tooth and causing bad breath. It is important to clean plaque regularly and properly. In this way, when the brackets come off, the teeth underneath will be healthy and strong.
If your mouth is not brushed, the rubber bands will fill up with bacteria after a while!

ISSUE:
We should not eat hard and sticky foods.
We should stay away from acidic drinks. They make it easier for teeth to decay.
Popcorn, gum, olives (can be eaten by removing the pit outside the mouth), cherries (can be eaten by removing the pit outside the mouth), snacks (can be eaten by not removing the shell inside the mouth)
We should not bite foods like apples and pears. You can eat them by cutting them into small pieces.
We should not eat quince, as it is very hard and can break the brackets (wires attached to our teeth).
We should definitely not eat plums! They will break our brackets! We should never put dates into our mouths with their seeds. We can eat foods with seeds such as grapes and cherries by removing their seeds outside the mouth.
You should not eat dates.
We should not bite foods such as hamburgers and sandwiches! They can be eaten by tearing them off.

2-We should clean the spaces between our teeth with dental floss at least before going to bed at night.
3- We should clean the spaces between our teeth and braces with an interdental brush after every meal.
4-We should use fluoride toothpastes.
5-We must be careful about our regular dentist and orthodontist visits.
