Clear Aligners
Orthodontic treatment is provided in our clinic using Orthero and Invisalign brands of clear aligners. Dr. Özgür Zileli is an Invisalign-certified orthodontist.

Clear aligner applications are an orthodontic method developed as an alternative to metal and ceramic braces. They are now commonly used to treat almost all cases of crooked teeth. Whether clear aligners are suitable for a patient is determined after a thorough check-up by the orthodontist. They can be easily applied to individuals with mild anomalies in their teeth and jaw structure. Clear aligners are especially popular among those who prefer discreet orthodontic treatment that doesn't interfere with work or school life, as well as those in professions where aesthetics are important, such as artists, theater performers, athletes, and managers.

One of the main advantages of clear aligners is that they can be removed at any time during the treatment and then reattached, allowing for treatment without interruption. Clear aligners can be comfortably removed for eating and brushing, making them suitable for people of all ages.

Clear Braces
INVISIBLE, AESTHETIC BRACES

Aesthetic porcelain or ceramic brackets are known as clear braces. Although clear aligners are often referred to as "transparent braces" by the public, they do not actually consist of brackets and should not be confused with other types of fixed braces treatments.

Clear (Porcelain) Brackets
Porcelain or ceramic braces offer a more aesthetic appearance during treatment and are commonly referred to as clear brackets. Since they are fragile, extra care is needed. Porcelain braces are also known as ceramic or tooth-colored brackets. They are designed with adult lifestyles in mind, as they help minimize the visibility of brackets on the teeth. Unlike traditional metal braces, porcelain braces are made from composite materials that resemble glass, allowing your natural teeth to remain visible.

Porcelain braces were created with aesthetics in mind, and when properly cared for, they do not stain. The rubber bands that hold the braces are typically white or transparent, coordinating with the brackets. Clear braces can be made from ceramic, porcelain, sapphire, or hard transparent plastic (though the latter is not preferred due to its lower quality).

Metal Braces
Metal braces are the most commonly used type of braces in orthodontic treatment. They are also known as traditional braces. Metal braces are highly durable, which is why they are often preferred over other types of braces. They are recommended by orthodontists for their faster results compared to porcelain braces and can be customized with colored or clear elastics.

Who Can Get Metal Braces?
After an orthodontic examination, and following any necessary procedures such as fillings, tooth extractions, or gum treatments, metal braces are applied to the front and back surfaces of the teeth. The orthodontist will provide specific instructions regarding care and maintenance of the braces. Metal braces are a popular choice for children, as they guide jaw development and improve the appearance of crooked teeth. They are suitable for patients whose jaw and tooth structures are appropriate for treatment.

Advantages of Metal Braces Treatment
Metal braces, designed according to an individual's oral structure, yield excellent results, especially when applied during a young age, guiding the development of the jaw and improving the appearance of teeth. Although clear braces have gained popularity in recent years, metal braces remain the fastest and most reliable treatment method. They are ideal for patients who want quick results and are considering orthodontic treatment at a younger age.

Advantages of Metal Braces:

  • Recommended by orthodontists as the most effective type of wire.
  • The most durable and strong wire.
  • Provides the fastest results.
  • Suitable for people of all ages.
  • Does not cause allergic reactions.
  • Allows for optimal monitoring of the treatment progress.
  • More affordable compared to other types of braces.

Removable Intraoral Appliances
Removable intraoral appliances are often used when children's teeth first emerge to prevent jaw narrowing and create space for new teeth. These orthodontic devices can be attached and removed at any time, and they help guide the development of teeth and jaws. Space maintainers, retainers, jaw expanders, and habit-breaking appliances fall under this category.

In addition to palatal expanders, clear plates used as an alternative to metal and transparent wires are also classified as removable appliances. These oral appliances can be used by adult patients as well and are single-piece devices that can be placed on both the upper and lower jaws. The use of removable intraoral appliances helps shape the palate by applying a certain force to the teeth. Each removable orthodontic appliance is specially designed for the individual patient to support overall orthodontic treatment.
